Caridad Center is a non-profit organization, founded in 1989 by Caridad Asensio and Connie Berry, to help low-income, working poor families.

Originally focused on providing the bare necessities, such as food, clothing and safe housing to those in need, we have continued to grow and fill in the gaps of service in our community.

Caridad operates medical and dental clinics that provide vital health services to uninsured Palm Beach County residents through the dedication of our 500+ volunteers, resulting in over 24,000 patient visits annually.

The services at Caridad Center are saving millions of dollars in uncompensated hospital care for the taxpayers of Palm Beach County.  The medical and dental care given greatly reduces the number of patients who use emergency room services because they have nowhere else to go.

In addition to the clinic services, Caridad has a social services program that offers Homework Enrichment, College Scholarships, Holiday Outreach and Emergency Assistance for Caridad Center patients in financial crisis.

CARIDAD CENTER PARTICIPATING IN BACK TO SCHOOL BASH
On August 14, families from Caridad Center will participate in the Community Back to School Bash at the WPB Convention Center. The children are paired with a personal shopper who guides them through a "store" of new, grade-appropriate school supplies and backpacks. Each family also gets lunch, free haircuts, clothing and books. This event-the largest of three held in Palm Beach County-exists to provide children with the tools they need to succeed in school.  The BASH is a non-profit, volunteer organization, relying on donations of money, goods and services from individuals, foundations and organizations. They will collaborate with over 50 non-profit agencies this year, serving  almost 10,000 children in PB County.
